The following are news snippets from the May e-Newsletter highlighting the Pacelli Catholic School system, individual students, alumni, staff, and members of the PCS community who have recently been highlighted for their accomplishments.

Congratulations to our 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient Fr. William “Bill” Menzel ’59.

Pacelli High School Destination Imagination (DI) team Omega Improv placed 2nd out of 80 teams at Global Finals last week, a major accomplishment!

Best wishes to our state-bound track athletes who compete this weekend and our state-bound golf team who will compete next week!

Students from St. Steve’s took a field trip over to Holy Spirit Parish for mass with Fr. Tom.

PCS alum, past parent, and former hockey coach Rusty Mitch ’76 was celebrated for his many years of dedication to our community’s youth through coaching upon announcing his retirement from that post earlier this year.

Beautiful weather made for a great 8th Annual Shredding Party!

Congratulations to all of the recipients of scholarships and awards that were honored at the Sr. Jane Epping Awards Ceremony & those inducted into the National Honor Society! Students were also honored with awards in band & choir at their spring concerts.

Brownie Troop 6102 created a “buddy bench” and donated it to St. Steve’s to earn their Inventor Badge.

Congrats to PCMS student Adam on winning the 8th Grade Wisconsin State Daughters of the American Revolution essay contest!

Jon Miskowski, Director of Television for Wisconsin Public Television and a proud former student of St. Steve’s, took the time during Teacher Appreciation Week to recognize his favorite teacher, Sister Venantia, from 5th grade at Steve’s.

PCMS 6th grader Lucy won 1st place in a Portage County 4-H Club speech contest!

PCS is proud to have so many award winning teachers at each of our schools! Congratulations to the following recent award winners:

Congratulations to Paige Hintz ’18 on being named the Central Wisconsin Conference-South Player of the Year for softball! Hintz was also named to 1st team along with Cailin Firkus ’18, Haley Raflik, Karah Kluck, & Madison Hintz, in addition to teammates Sophie Schroeder, Amanda Klasinski, & Teesa Shafranski being named 2nd team. The team, who have already clinched the Conference & Regional Championship titles, will compete to be Sectional Champions tonight – good luck!

Good luck to our Co-Conference Champion baseball team as they advance to compete in the regional championship game tonight!

PCHS volunteered their time enjoying an afternoon of dancing at the Senior Citizen Prom.

Groundbreaking took place for the new Cultural Commons interactive garden and education space.

Local business Skyward was celebrated once again as one of Wisconsin’s best workplaces for millennials.

The Portage County Business Council honored local businesses and a young professional for their positive impact on the community at the Creative Excellence Awards Breakfast.

Artists young and old were able to make their mark downtown on a new mural.

Local philanthropist Patty Noel was honored for her support of women and children as she received the 2018 SPARK Philanthropist Award at the Women’s Fund of Portage County Spring Luncheon.
