Pacelli Education Foundation

History

In 1975, alumni and friends of Pacelli Catholic High School, with the support of local parishes, organized the Pacelli Education Foundation for the benefit of Pacelli Catholic Schools. The principal funds of the Foundation were and are intended to be a permanent, perpetual investment account providing income to address the financial needs of the students and the school system.

The Foundation is managed by a Board of Trustees, nine members plus ex-officio members including the President for Pacelli Catholic Schools, the Dean of the Stevens Point Deanery, and the Principal of Pacelli Catholic High School who meet quarterly to receive updates on PCS, review the investments, and approve distributions of the Foundation’s funds.

The Foundation was established with an initial fund drive which resulted in nearly $500,000 in contributions. Since then, various memorial gifts have come to the Foundation to benefit Pacelli Catholic Schools in a variety of areas. As of September 2020, the value of the fund was approximately $1.74M.

In 1993, the Foundation began to manage memorial scholarship funds designated specifically for the benefit of Pacelli Catholic Schools students.

Through the years, the Foundation has generously supported a number of projects throughout Pacelli Catholic Schools including funding for increased teacher salaries, renovations of a new science lab and a new art studio, capital campaign contributions, and building improvements to name a few. Approximately $40,000 in annual distributions are made from the Foundation to benefit students of Pacelli Catholic Schools.
